This is a picture of Cody Lee Gattone, who was born December 18, 1996 in Lebanon, Pa. He weighed 8lbs. 2oz. and was 20 inches.

Within minutes after birth, his doctor noticed that he wasn't breathing right and was slight blue in color. That afternoon he was transported to Hershey Medical Center, where he would spend the next three weeks and undergo two heart operations. Cody's chromosomes were tested during that time and we were told the devastating news that our first child had the syndrome.

Well here we are two years later and we thank God for him everyday. He brings us so much joy!

Cody is a very happy and loving child. He loves to give hugs and kisses! He is currently crawling on all fours. His therapists say it won't be too long before he is up and walking. We have been working on sign language. He just started signing "more". He does say "Mama" and "Dadda", and other things we can't quite make out yet.

Cody has done far more then the doctors told us he would do when he was born. They paint such an ugly picture of your child. They told us to take him home and love him like you would a normal child. Well, that is exaclty what we did and I think that it is because of all the love, prayers and support that we receive daily from our family and friends that Cody has made such great strides. And for that we are so thankful!!!!

Feel free to contact us anytime. We would love to hear from others!
