| Anna
Anna was diagnosed with Cri du Chat Syndrome in the NICU shortly after birth in August, 2001. She has an extra piece of the 15th chromosome attached to her 5th where the piece is missing and is also mosaic. Anna is a very special little girl with lots of medical issues right now (8 months old.) Besides the normal laryngomalacia, reflux, and low muscle tone, she also has seizures, severe hearing impairment, and unilateral hip displacia. She is currently fed breastmilk by g-tube and has never been able to take anything by mouth due to aspiration. She is also in a spica cast following her open hip reduction. She has been on oxygen therapy numerous times after pneumonia and most recently after her surgery. She started laughing when she was 4 1/2 months old and is a happy child when she is healthy. Her big sister, Ashlie is completely in love with her and gets very sad every time she goes to the hospital. I would love to hear from anyone. We are in Washington State, USA.
