Feedback: Was very pleased to find this site! My nephew Grahm who is 21 and one half years old has CDC. He was diagnosed at birth and was given a poor prognosis as to his future quality of life. He weighed 2 lbs. and some ounces at full term. Grahm now walks with assistance, speaks single words, and understands a great deal. He does have scoliosis. Sadly to say Grahm was diagnosed in December of 1998 with terminal colon/liver cancer. He is eating again but has lost much weight. He is not getting chemo or radiation, but again is more of himself after several surgeries and a colostomy. Is there anyone who knows of any link between CDC and colon cancer? (There may be none, but he is very young for a typical colon cancer patient) Also, could any parents of CDC children in their 20's or older please leave age information. Finally, if any CDC parents would like to write to my sister (she does not own a computer) she would surely enjoy hearing from you as she is a single parent and would enjoy your support and conversation. Even having her family, we cannot provide the insight that you other parents of CDC children can provide, and in return perhaps she can help some of you younger parents with her experiences with Grahm. We called our pediatrician and discussed the possibility with him and he referred us to a genetic specialist. We got the results back when Rayden was three weeks old. Feedback: We have a 6 year old daughter named Jasmine with CDC and we're hoping to find some behavior modifications to help Jasmine, she currently on two medications Adderall and Luvox to control her behaviors . But it is still a battle some days and very frustratring to understanding her moods. She hits,bits, pinches, scratches and pulls hair . Jasmine also will pull her own hair out and eat it at times. The Luvox is suppose to be good for that and has work so far. The Adderall is for her hyperactivity and does work , but we just increased it. We are very interested in any information you may have or advice. We are also wondering if other children are on medications and how do they work. We really hated putting her on medications but her behavior was getting so out of control, that we had a real hard time dealing with her and it also affected her learning in school. She pulls her hair out,gets really excited and screams often and I had no idea if it was related to the syndrom or not.
